Peter Allen (Co-Chair)
In 2004 Peter Allen was appointed Managing Director of Lombard Street Research, the internationally acclaimed economic forecaster. Upon appointment, Peter embarked on a reorganisation of the business, returning it swiftly to profitability. Subsequent revenue growth and investment has led to an expansion of services, with Global Investment Opportunities and Equity Strategy Research built upon the unique themes in to be found in the company’s core global macro research. An office in Hong Kong has also been added to London and New York. As well as full responsibility for all aspects of the operational and financial management of the firm, Peter maintains a special interest in both marketing and business development. He is passionate about markets and economics and relishes special research projects and hosting and moderating related events around the world. Peter has an extensive background in global finance. He graduated from Oxford University with MA (Hons) Law.
Simon Adamson
Prior to joining CreditSights, Simon was Head of European High Grade Research and Senior European Bank Analyst at Deutsche Bank. Simon worked at rating agency IBCA, now part of FitchRatings, from 1987 to 1996 where in addition to conducting bank analysis in various European countries he was an Executive Committee member. He is well known for his extensive grasp of issues germane to the credit industry as well as his individual credit analysis.
Glenn Bedwin
Glenn joined Absolute Strategy Research as Chief Operating Officer in September 2011. Prior to that he had focused on the investment research market in senior roles at Thomson Financial and at Fidelity International as well as developing his own consultancy business . He is particularly interested in the regulators approach to independent research and has had numerous dealings with the FSA and the European commission. He is also interested in the product management and marketing of investment research with a particular emphasis on pricing and the CSA process.
Richard Kramer
After four years as the #1 rated technology analyst in Europe, Richard left Goldman Sachs where he was head of technology research to form the first independent technology research group in Europe in January 2000. Unlike other analysts, Arete has no conflicts of interest preventing their telling the truth about technology. After the scandals surrounding deceptive and poor quality analysis, Arete has found an increasing demand for its independent views on telecoms, software, semis and services. Richard has an industry background, having worked for Nortel and at a prestigious Columbia University economics think tank before six years in the City of London.
Nicholas Mather
Nicholas founded Trusted Sources, an independent research firm specialising in interpreting macro and policy trends in the BRICs, in 2006. Trusted Sources focuses on helping investors to bring deep country knowledge into play to aid the investment process in these opaque political economies; it benefits from a team of 15 analysts located in Beijing, Delhi, Moscow, Sao Paulo, London and New York. Prior to 2006 Nicholas was MD of Breakingviews, the leading online financial commentary service started by former FT Lex journalists, and purchased by Reuters in 2009. Previous to that, he spent 20 years in investment banking (BNP Paribas and CSFB) working in Asia and Europe. In the 1990s following the collapse of the Soviet Union Nicholas was involved in the newly created Russian financial markets where he played a key role in the creation of a joint venture investment bank in Moscow and arranged equity financings for the newly established and privatised Russian joint-stock companies. He graduated in economics from York University.
Cédric Rimaud
Cedric joined Spread Research in 2009 as a Managing Partner after 12 years in global financial institutions. Cédric worked as a market maker on corporate credit for Credit Suisse Securities, based in Tokyo. He also worked as a CDS trader, in charge of Middle East, Africa and South East Asian credits, for Citigroup Global Markets, and as a Fixed Income portfolio manager for JP Morgan Asset Management in London. Cédric graduated from EM Lyon in 1996 and holds a Master in Finance from the London Business School.
